After several TV appearances, she received her first major role in 1993's romantic comedy "Much Ado about Nothing". Beckinsale has appeared in numerous famous films since then, including "Emma" 1996, "Pearl Harbor 2001" and "Underworld 2003" which resulted in five additional films within the franchise. Beckinsale was also a part of "Total Recall" (2012) together with Jessica Biel & Colin Farrel. She also has won high-profile awards for her work, such as the title of 'Best Actress' at the Sitges Catalan International Film Festival and the Evening Standard British Film Awards as well as the National Film Awards U.K.
